Overview
A fiction film grown from a real farm.
Our first self-financed narrative: a young couple races a storm to bring in the last wheat before the harvest festival. We wrote it with the farming family who hosted our Harrow Lane shoot — then cast them in it.
Fourteen minutes, nine shooting days, one very patient combine driver. The film took the audience prize at two regional festivals.
Approach
Non-actors, real weather.
No rain machines, no stand-ins for the land. The script was timed to the actual harvest calendar, and the storm in act three is the storm that arrived — a day early, perfectly on cue.
